THE GIRL IN THE GRAVE by Helen Phifer

SYNOPSIS

AT least they had found her. Once the site was processed and the girl’s body removed, they’d be able to identify her so that her family could give her the burial she deserved. This innocent girl was far too young to be lying in a grave, crushed under the weight of someone else’s coffin….

When the body of a teenage girl is found hidden inside a stranger’s grave in a small town cemetery in the Lake District, an urgent call is made to Forensic Pathologist Beth Adams. One look at the beautiful girl’s broken body is enough to bring Beth out of hiding for the first time since an attempt on her own life….

MY REVIEW

This book had me hooked from the first chapter.I felt claustrophobic at the opening scenes. Introducing Beth Adams who has gone from being a Dr in A&E to retrain to become a Forensic Pathologist. It’s clear from the beginning that something had happened to Beth she is taking self defence lessons, has top security in her home and is hyper vigilant. She is called out to a body that has been found under a coffin only found as the person in the coffin was being exhumed after a member of the family have queried the death. Another girl is missing and working with Beth is Detective Josh Walker who has known Beth since university and who had previously saved her life.

The pace is non stop keeping you continuously guessing who the killer is as there are so many suspects thrown in that you keep wondering is it them!

This is a brilliantly written book, engrossing full of suspense. Set in the beautiful Lake District.

This is the first book in a new series by the author. This book is due for release on the 16th July available to pre order on Amazon now

I would very highly recommend this book and have given it 5 stars out of 5 and I will certainly be picking other books up by this author. #netgalley #TheGirlintheGrave #HelenPhifer #Bookouture
